Incident reports are reports other than accident reports and must be reviewed prior to release. The review process includes redacting confidential information. The requester will be notified of any redactions or denials. Any denial/redaction determinations are subject to review by mandamus under WI Statute 19.35(1), or upon application to the Attorney General or a District Attorney.
There is a $2 minimum charge to pick up the incident report at the police department customer service window or $3 to have it mailed or faxed. For reports over 8 pages, we charge an addition $.25 per page plus postage. A CD/DVD of digital pictures or squad videos are $5.00 each, plus postage. For larger requests the police department will charge actual time & materials to process the request. In these instances the requester will be notified prior to starting the project.
