The Census Bureau will be calling some households who have completed the Census form. The telephone questions should take about 10 minutes or less and are used to follow up on Census forms to verify that everyone is counted once, only once, and at the right location. Not all households will receive these calls.
If you receive a call from the Census Bureau, check the number on your caller id. It should display as the Census Bureau or 866-851-2010.
If your phone doesn’t have a display, ask the Census worker for your case id #, then call the above number to verify.
The Census Bureau will NOT ask for any financial information or SSN#, etc. If the caller asks these questions, write down the number and contact law enforcement.
