The City of Wausau is seeking two proposals for the following:
- Providing for the impoundment, care, treatment and/or humane disposal of stray cats.
- Providing for the impoundment, care, treatment and/or humane disposal of both stray cats and other non-dog stray animals.
The City currently contracts with the Humane Society of Marathon County for the provision of services to animals held for cause. The City also currently contracts with the Everest Metro Police Department to provide to their jurisdiction, the specific services of a Humane Officer outlined in the contract.
The City’s objective is to contract with a facility for one of the two above listed animal impoundment services. The successful respondent shall provide one of the two impoundment services listed above to the City of Wausau, City of Schofield, Village of Weston and Town of Weston.

Proposals will be opened by the Board of Public Works on March 11, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at City Hall.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to choose the proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Wausau.
