**Family Definition:  All family members must permanently reside at the same dwelling.  There must be at least one adult (18 yrs.+) but not more than 2 adults, both which must be the parents or legal guardians of the children.  All siblings 18 years old and older must purchase a separate adult pass. 
All additional adults would have to get a separate adult pass.

Saturday and Sunday None 1:00 to 7:50 pm

Parents with nonswimming children are encouraged to ask pool staff for lifejackets for their children to wear while they are at the pool. We recommend children under 6 years be accompanied by a responsible older youth or adult at the pool.

FREE Swim Wednesdays from 6 - 7:50 p.m. all pools; no minimum age; everyone welcome! Swim for half-price after 6pm at all the pools every evening except Wed. when its FREE after 6pm.There is no minimum age limit. Infants and toddlers who aren't toilet trained must wear swim diapers.

Parent-Child (18 mo to ages 4 yrs) Introduces basic skills to parents and children. Parents are taught to safely work with their child in the water (adults must accompany their child in the water), including how to hold, support, encourage, and evaluate their child. Children are introduced to basic skills. Class is taught Tuesdays and Thursday of each session
Pre-School Swim (ages 4 & 5) Introduces and builds upon basic skills including water entry/exit, breath control, supported floating on front and back, glides, alternate arms and legs movement on front and back, life jacket use and safety around water. Class is taught Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays of each session.
Small-fry, (Beginner Swimmer) Child must be at least 5 years of age to take this class. No prior swimming experience is necessary.
Gold Fish, (Advanced Beginner Swimmer) Child must be able to demonstrate the following skills on the first day of class: Safe entry from the side or stairs, blow bubbles, front and back float with support, alternating arm and leg motion with support and roll from front to back and back to front with support. Recover to standing from front or back float with support.
Bluegill, (Intermediate Swimmer) Child must have passed Small-Fry and Gold Fish. Class covers stroke development, water safety, and seated and kneeling head-first water entry.
Porpoise, (Advanced Swimmer) Student must have passed Small-Fry, Gold Fish, and Bluegill to participate. Class covers deep water bobbing, and advanced water safety.
Families looking for free life jackets and hands-on water safety skills are welcome. This is an in-water event for kids and adults, and swim suits are required. Safety skills offered include: boating safety, life jacket safety, deep water safety, reach-throw-wading assists, and hypothermia prevention. Participants are eligible for free swimming after the program. Pre-registration is required. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Date: Saturday, June 16, Location: Memorial Pool, 500 Memorial Park Road, Wausau WI 54403, Time: 10am-Noon, Free Swim: 1pm (for participants), To Register: Pre-registration is required by calling 715-847-2380. Your Library and Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department invite you to a Library Swim Day. Members of the Marathon County Public Library's Summer Reading Club or anyone with a library card can enter for free. Date: Tuesday, August 7, Swimming: 1-7:50pm, Location: Kaiser Pool, 900 E Bridge St., Schulenburg Pool, 1553 Summit Dr., Memorial Pool, 500 Memorial Park Rd., Fee: Free with a Summer Reading Club ticket, or present one member's Library Card and the entire family gets in at no charge. Kaiser, Memorial, And Schulenburg Pool Private Rental Rates: Pools are available to rent for private parties from June 16 - Aug. 12, 2018 on Saturday and Sunday mornings 9am to Noon.  Reservations must be made at the Park Office, 212 River Drive, Suite #2. You must be 18 years of age, to rent the pool.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Class
Become a certified lifeguard and get great year-round, part-time or seasonal, full-time employment at great pools in your community. You must be 15 years of age to take this class and pass a basic water fitness test that includes a 300 yard swim, a timed retrieval of a brick from deep water with return swim using legs only (max time 1:40), and two minutes of treading water with legs only. Maximum class size is 10 students. Dates: July 23 - Aug. 3, Times: 10 am to 12 pm, Location: Schulenburg Pool, 1533 Summit Drive, Wausau 54401 Fee: $100.00 (includes book, pocket mask, and certification fees)

Junior Lifeguard Class  Swimmers, ages 12-14 who are interested in expanding their water safety skills and exploring the world of lifeguarding are invited to register for this Junior Lifeguard Class. They will build swimming endurance, learn how to make non-contact rescues and practice injury prevention through rule enforcement Maximum class size 15.. Days: Monday through Thursday, July 2 - 19 (No class July 4) Fee: Residents $38.00m, Non-residents $46.00, Time 10:10 am, Site: Schulenburg Pool, 1533 Summit Drive, Wausau 54401

To sign up, complete a pool registration form and fax, e-mail, or drop off your registration and payment to the Park Administrative Office, 212 River Drive, Suite #2, Wausau. If you fax or e-mail your signed registration form you can call in to pay by credit card so you wouldn't have to U.S. Mail or drive to our office to get registered.
