Mayor James E. Tipple was elected Chief Executive Officer for the City of Wausau and is responsible for supervising and directing the day-to-day operations of city government. The corporate authority of the city is vested in both Mayor Tipple and the twelve elected members of the Common Council. Mayor Tipple has a statutory duty to take care that city ordinances and state laws are observed and enforced and that all city officers and employees discharge their duties.
