Kannenberg Plaza is a smoke free complex located at 1240 Merrill Avenue in Wausau, and has106 one-bedroom apartments. Apartments are open to individuals and couples who meet the income requirements and are at least 62 years of age or are disabled.
Apartments have a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living room, all completely remodeled and updated.
Security deposits are one-month's rent. Tenants must pay their own phone, cable and electric bill. All other utilities are included. Tenants are given a Utility Allowance, to account for their electric bill, of $30.00 per month, which is deducted from their rent monthly. Rents are based on 30% of the person's income. Cats and small dogs are allowed, but must be up to date on shots as well as spayed/neutered. Pets require an additional security deposit.
Income requirements are based on limits set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD):
